01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

On the 45th floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1, the North Observation Deck houses CAFE&SHOP SOCOCOCO alongside panoramic views over Tokyo. Overlooking the sprawling cityscape and open sky, it provides a handy rest stop during a day of sightseeing.

The beverage lineup features refreshing float drinks designed to match the scenery outside the windows, including sky-inspired creations such as the Fair Sky Blue Soda Float and the Magic Hour Herbtea Float made with herbal tea. Sweet choices include the Matcha Parfait in Masu served in a traditional wooden sake box, cheesecake, seasonal mousse, and three-colour dango rice dumplings paired with sweet red bean paste and cherry-blossom paste.

For heartier appetites, the menu offers a solid selection of savoury dishes and quick bites. The classic Tokyo Ramen, topped with nori seaweed and chashu pork, is also available in a half-size portion to suit lighter cravings. Other options range from a spicy keema curry prepared without animal-derived ingredients to a gyudon beef bowl made with a portion of Kuroge Wagyu beef, alongside handheld bites such as rice balls wrapped in meat and takoyaki octopus dumplings.

Drink offerings include freshly brewed coffee, matcha lattes, and Tokyo black tea, complemented by alcoholic options such as Tokyo Blues craft beer and regional Japanese sake. Visitors can take in the city vistas and enjoy teatime at their own pace in the relaxed observation lounge atmosphere.
